Distance, music, and returning to a forgotten world

The first Parts of the new Twin Peaks, especially Part 1 & Part 2, shows lots of places and characters, and David Lynch directs those scenes with distance. For instance, the first shots of Twin Peaks are those of Jacoby: the camera is far away most of the time, and the dialogues are hardly audible.

The musics are very discreet, and above all, there is no new music from Badalamenti.

We see the world of Twin Peaks and the other storylines as foreigners, the characters are like ghosts. Like Agent Cooper, we are "far away" from the world. We have to wait the return of Dale Cooper to earth (Part 3), to have some feelings back, and some musics too. In Part 4, Bobby cries and the Laura Palmer theme comes back. In part 5, Cooper cries, and we have a new piece of Badalamenti music. In part 6, there is the collision scene, with a tragic new music from Badalamenti.

The collision scene in Part 6 makes us crie after a lot of "cold" and dark feelings in the first parts, especially in the scenes with Mister C - that Kyle MacLachlan plays "like a shark", as he says himself. By the way, Part 6 is the first episode without Mister C.

That scene proves also that "soul" or "spirit" exists. Carl sees the little boy's soul escaping from his body and fly. The strollers around are moved, but don't move. Only Carl goes to the woman and calms her by just looking at her.

After Part 3 and Cooper's return to earth, a lot of things that appeared from "distance" before now appears more understandable.
After Part 3, our point-of-views change slowly episode after episode:
- The Golden Shovels of Jacoby, showed as something deeply mysterious in the first episodes, reveals to be tools for a crazy youtube show
- Doris Truman, depicted as an horrible and stupid wife, suddenly appears as a tragic mother in Part 6
- Richard Horne, first a purely evil guy, appears as someone lost in darkness and despaired, a much more complex human being
- Janey-E, very much like a robot at first, appears in Part 6 and Part 7 as a woman who have learned to ignore her unfaithful husband, just to avoid becoming crazy.

Twin Peaks season 3, and particularly the Parts 1-7, are all about returning from amnesia.
