Theory 1: Is Mr Todd and Phillip Jeffries one and the same?

Theory based on Part 1-8 only.

What if Mr Todd IS Phillip Jeffries? Meaning that he would be kind of possessed, or linked to him in an evil and invisible way? When he says to his assistant "I hope you'll never meet someone like him" in Part 2, the assistant leaves the room without a word, terrified. Maybe he sees his boss as a schyzophrenic.
Patrick Fischler weird face and reactions could match with a possession case "ala Leland Palmer", but with the spirit of Jeffries?

Plus, Mr Todd seems to be working with Lorraine (girl with the blackberry phone) for Phillip Jeffries. Jeffries is still invisible (when I write this article we are at Part 8). The girl sends messages to Phillip Jeffries in Buenos Aires (well, it seems to mean that). But she just sends message. Mr Todd receives one (the red square) and take a decision. Maybe Mr Todd is the voice and "the arm" of Phillip Jeffries. Maybe it is him that Cooper hears on the phone in Part 1.

New elements in Part 9: Mr Todd is working for Mister C.

In Part 9, it seems that Mister C. is in fact asking Mr Todd to organize the crime of Dougie Jones. "It has not been done yet".

But why is Lorraine sending a message to Phillip Jeffries? If it is not Jeffries, in Buenos Aires, then who is it? Is Lorraine doublecrossing Mr Todd and Mister C. for Phillip Jeffries?

For now, it seems that Mister C. wants Dougie dead, and that Jeffries wants Mister C. dead. Where Mr Todd stands between them two? Is he doublecrossing Mr C. too?

Or is it just Ray who betrays him?
